Mizzou Chapter at the University of Missouri-Columbia

We will once again hold a Poster Competition for students to highlight their research in Computational Intelligence. Cash prizes will be awarded! Details can be found here . The Poster Competition will be held in Ketcham Auditorium, Lafferre Hall, 10 am to noon on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Lunch will be provided at noon.

Winners of the 2006 Poster Competition

• First Place ($150): Raj Bondugula. Title: MUPRED: Protein Secondary Prediction System
• Second Place ($100): Tim Havens. Title: On the Use of Particle Swarms and GPUs in Video-Based 3D Human Pose Estimation
• Third Place ($50): Derek Anderson. Title: Real-Time Recognition of Falls from Silhouettes

2006 Seminar Series

• October 27, 2 pm. Speed-up of Algorithms with Graphics Processing Units First in a series of 4 seminars presented by Derek Anderson and Robert Luke III. Held in Room W1004 Lafferre Hall.
• November 29, 4 pm. Dr. Pablo Estevez , guest lecturer from the Electrical Engineering Dept., University of Chile. Held in EBW Auditorium. Come at 3:30 pm for Cookies.
